The first of Llangollen's Saturday Santa Specials was due to head out at eleven but as I drove to Glyndyfrdwy an hour or so before it was due out I passed the distinct sight of steam down below the road near Berwyn. A quick sort out after parking the car and I managed to get down to Garthyfog in time see GWR Large Prairie 5199 appear. I don't know if this was a private trip or an extra run but it was a bit of a bonus.
