A gnarled old tree in the improved pastures on the lower slopes of the Berwyn Hills has probably been around since long before the railway was built and definitely longer than the early twentieth century GWR 2800 Class locomotive steaming by below. 2807 was on its second trip to Carrog with a Santa Special and I was heading back to Glyndyfrdwy as the weather decided to turn a bit gnarly!
