Looking down from the rocky shelf below the summit of Moelwyn Bach as Earl Of Merioneth made its final journey down the line to Porthmadog. It is seen here crossing Llyn Stwlan's service road at Tanygrisau with the Lakeside Cafe in view. The locomotive might not be heading to the "great scrapyard in the sky" after all as plans to cannibalise it for parts have been shelved and the current "word on the tracks" is to park it up in storage and decide on scrapping or restoration further down the line.
