This could almost come from an illustrated Dickens novel from the nineteenth century. Apart from the meticulous detail there seems to be a sense of humour shown from the artist - the chap "riding shotgun" on the front of the first-class carriages, the literally horseless carriage being an early version of Motorail and, my favourite, the chaps trying to sort out the rowdy pigs on the goods train.
