Two engines in steam on the preserved Midland Railway line this bank holiday Monday.
The ex war-department 0-6-0 'Austerity' class, from the 1940s, which found use in many industrial applications as well as being the 'J94' class of British Railways, and an old 0-4-0 saddle tank, hauling a mix of very old carriages. I guess these antique carriages are saved for days like today.
i (just) remember the J94 locomotives working on the Cromford and High Peak line, though they were never, ever, as clean as this!
