The Yorkshire Wolds Railway forms part of the original Malton & Driffield Junction Railway which opened in 1853.
The Yorkshire Wolds Railway Restoration Project was formed in October 2008, exactly 50 years after closure of the Malton to Driffield line.
The project is still in the early stages of developing a heritage railway, but the visitor centre is now open and the railway offers locomotive cab rides along a 0.9 mile track.
